The vehicle of a missing Taos man has been found, New Mexico State Police confirmed Friday (Jan. 25).

State police said the blue Subaru Baja belonging to Taos architect Bill Breashears was found Wednesday at the BLM parking lot located at the Petaca Trail head.

Sgt. Travis Skinner said Friday morning that Taos Search and Rescue searched the area as for four hours Wednesday evening, but have so far been unable to find any sign of Breashears himself.

The next step, Skinner said, will be for search and rescue crews to organize an aerial search via helicopter sometime this week.

Breashears was reported missing after he stopped answering his phone earlier this month. A friend found a letter in Breashears' office that contained instructions on what to do with his personal items, Breashears' family told The Taos News.
