I remember the Chick twins coming to school at East from Texas. Dave was a little quieter than Doug, who was such a hilarious guy. Both were in ROTC and joined the military after graduating. Dave's death was sad news.
THE PARIS NEWS Fri., Aug. 15, 1975, p.11: “David Lee Chick, 20, of Cheyenne, WY., died there Wednesday. He was a Sherman native. Officials in Cheyenne said Friday that autopsy and blood tests results will probably not be ready until next week in determining Chick’s death. Officials said Chick was found dead in a bedroom in his brother’s trailer home in Cheyenne and Cheyenne police are investigation the matter. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Sunnyside Baptist Church in Cheyenne. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services Saturday at 4 p.m. in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Dr. James Semple will officiate. He was born Dec. 9, 1954 in Sherman, the son of the late L.A. Chick and Mrs. Irene Chick. He had served in the US Navy. Mr. Chick attended Paris public schools and had lived here for a number of years before moving to Wyoming four years ago. Survivors include his mother of Cheyenne WY., one brother, Doug Chick also of Cheyenne; two sisters, Mrs. Jennan Cook of Plainview and Mrs. Lou Ellen DeMott of Haltom City.”
