In Memory

Warren J. Wollheim

Warren J. Wollheim

Warren J. Wollheim  1941 - 2023

Warren James Wollheim passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on September 9, 2023. On January 22, 1941 he was the first born son to Caesar & Beatrice Wollheim of Chicago, IL. He was a big guy with an even bigger heart & touched the lives of many people throughout his long blessed life. Warren was caring, warm & genuine. He was dedicated to giving back to the community & always willing to contribute physically & financially wherever he could. He & his wife were one of the founding members of Temple Sinai. He had a fabulous sense of humor & a love of story telling that will continue through the generations.

Warren defied all odds by surviving a small plane crash in Fremont, Ohio on June 20, 1971. After recovery & healing he decided best to move to sunny Sarasota, FL & follow in the footsteps of his grandparents & parents. It was here he used his strong leadership & entrepreneurial skills to create Dinettes Unlimited in 1976. A family man to the core, he was overjoyed when his three daughters & one son in law decided to join him in the business & continue on the legacy he created.

Warren was always fascinated by the ocean & had a love for all things nautical. He was an avid scuba diver taking to the sport in the early seventies & saw to it that all three of his girls were certified to go with him. The family enjoyed many years of Sunday boating, vacations and holidays residing on Siesta Key.

He is survived by his caring wife of 54 years, Sheila & his three doting daughters, Debra Weinsberg (Dan) , Edy Attanasio (Rob) & Wendy Higa (Luis) and his cherished grandchildren Cayla Weinsberg & Levi Higa. He will be greatly missed by his brother Larry Wollheim & sister Judy Feinberg, niece Elyse Becker and all of those who were privileged to have known him.

My deepest sympathy to Shelia and their family. I remember Warren as a big boy from school and in Boy Scouts. He was always giving a man all throughout his extraordinary life as a husband, a father of his three daughters, and extended family and his family business and their success.

He will missed. Don Fitch

Rodger Hall Reed, Sr.

The  ranks of the "Class of 1958" grows thinner ... and so many who have left us for "home" continue to have loved and charrished familly members among us. I pray blessings on those families and on the "class mates" still aong us. In many ways, I was an outsider within the class of 1958, my friends and buddies are not listed as active with us over the years ... Reggie Yates, Berry Warren, Herriet Dolby, my prom date "Diane" ... to name a few ... to my memory there were twelve Afrian American students within our cass, I miss them also.

This nation has gone through many changes since the class of "58" left the halls of "Christian Fenger High School" ... Uncle "Holly" Hollister, Andrew Lombrazio, Mrs. Yates , SGT Holsman, Mr. Brill and Mr. Schmit, Mrs. Mulligan ... and Sheldon's on the cornor ... where my crowd waited for the buss at Wallace & 111th streets ... or walked through Roseland ... going to our homes. All of us, the "Class of 58" have helped to shape a better world by our different contributions in our lives & carreers ... in that we can  be proud. As our nation and world are going through difficult times ... let us continue to remember ... "Faith, Hope & the Fraternity of Fellowship" ... will guide our pathways ... till all "God's Children" ... finally arrve at HOME! And I know ... WE will get home! ... one day! Please remember ... "God loves YOU! ... and so does Pastor Reed!
