Charles Lamont Johnston, Sr. of Milford, DE died Tuesday January 19, 2010 at home. He was 55. Mr. Johnston was born February 16, 1954 in Jacksonville, North Carolina to Claude Johnston and the late Jesse Fox Johnston. He spent four years in the Air Force leaving as a Sgt. Fuel Specialist. Mr. Johnston received his BA in Physics. He owned and operated a restoration and painting company “JOM Painting”. Mr. Johnston enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, collecting guns, knives and swords. He also enjoyed martial arts, shooting pool (billiards) and was an excellent cook. Besides his mother he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Reynolds. Mr. Johnston is survived by his father; fiancée, Rosa Jones of Milford; children, Charles L. Johnston, Jr., Claude Alexander Johnston, Catal Jones, TeAshanna Jones, Ambrosia Jones and several adopted children; sister, Rita Johnston; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12noon Tuesday January 26, 2010 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Arc of Delaware, PO Box 562, Dover, DE 19903.
