Julie, Jennifer, Georgia. Our names, in that order, rolled off our tongues on a daily basis all through school and decades after. They were my bookends. The girls I did everything with in school and after. We grew up, rocked out, laughed our asses off, loved, cried, went through boyfriends and even marriages together. Until Julie got sick. We lost her about 12 years ago to breast cancer. I was there along with her children and Jennifer at the end. Then 4 years later Jennifer was diagnosed with cancer and succumbed as well. A day does not pass that I don't miss them. The 3 of us attended a few milestone Lane reunions together and I wish we could do the same for number 40.
