Sheryl M. Lane (Morabito)

Morabito, Sheryl M. (nee Lane) Age 55, passed away surrounded by her family on July 21, 2015, after a long and courageous battle against ovarian cancer. She was preceded in the very recent death by her mother, Shirley M. Klobnack; by her son, Jason M. Morabito; and her grandmother, Florence Ecklund. She was the loving wife of Sam J. Morabito of 33 years; beloved mother of her devoted daughter, Samantha N. Morabito; and loving sister of Roberta (George) Wilson and Stacy (Jenny) Stoldt-Seat; and niece of a dear uncle, Dennis Rezmer. She leaves behind many very close and fond sisters-in-law, Sandra (Ed) Farrer, Stephanie Hoover, Sharon Guidice Morabito, Josephine Morabito; as well as brother-in-law, Joseph (Denise) Morabito; along with many loving nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Sheryl will be truly be missed by many close and personal friends. Sheryl was a graduate of Lane Tech (Class of 1977), received her Bachelor's degree from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master's in Library Science from Dominican University. Sheryl was a librarian with Chicago Public Libraries which she loved doing. She was also a member of the American Library Association. Sheryl was passionate about her city "Chicago" and was a successful Administrative Assistant at City Hall to several Chicago Aldermen and a Vice Mayor of the City of Chicago for many years. Sheryl loved animals, her summer home in Key Largo, FL, and had a strong love for books and was a member of many book clubs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Sheryl are to be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at www.ocrf.org. Visitation is Sunday, July 26th at Pietryka Funeral Home, 5734 West Diversey Avenue, Chicago, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Private interment services to be held the following day.

So sad to Hear Sheryl had passed away. I went to college with her for a couple of years and lost touch.

Why is it that we lose touch with our friends, and then, when things calm down a bit in our lives, we want to reconnect again, and then - it's too late!  I just found out, that dear Sheryl passed away.  I have lots of memories from Lane and thru the years...  will always love you and remember the good times...
