******************************************************************************************************************

Hello. This is Owen's son, Creighton Yost.

Owen passed away last night, at home and in the company of Nancy and I, escorting him through the process quietly, quickly, and without pain.

He was admitted to the hospital just last weekend, and shortly thereafter Nancy and I brought him home for hospice care to be comfortable. He was the model of a giving and generous man until the end, thanking hospice workers and others for their time with his last ounces of energy. He passed knowing he was loved by all of you, and grateful for his experiences in life that you were a part of. Thank you, from me, for that was the greatest gift.

He is free from his frustrating bonds of ataxia and other ailments, and is hopefully walking, running, canoeing, swimming and enjoying his unbound body as much as possible in the next chapter of existence. It must feel good to finally run free again. It makes me happy to think about this liberation, and balances out the sadness of his passing.

By his request there will be no public service, just a small family gathering here in Denton, Texas. He's asked me to spread his ashes in a beautiful and naturally forested area of my selection.

With love, Creighton Yost
