Mia Castillo McCowan passed away on November 13, 2018, at the age of 47.  Mia was an amazing mother, wife, and friend.  She was married to her high-school sweetheart Matt McCowan for over 21 years and her greatest joy was being a mom to their two sweet daughters Dylan and Josie.

Mia selflessly poured her heart into her friendships and her community.  She loved working with her daughters' schools, throwing parties and treating everyone to her famous "Mia Cookies."  She was a giver by nature and had a heart for so many.  Mia was a member of the National Charity League, a mother-daughter philanthropic organization benefiting the community of Chico.  Mia had a huge heart for animals and especially adored her 4 dogs and cat.

When she wasn't in Chico she loved to be in Tahoe (where she fell in love and married Matt), Newport Beach or Hawaii with her family.  She is missed greatly by her daughters, Dylan and Josie, her husband Matt, her mother Sharon Castillo and her sister Dana Rizzo, brother Stephen Castillo, their families, and many lifelong friends.
