    David E. DeLong, 63, of Chillicothe died January 20, 2004 in his home unexpectedly.

    He was born October 13, 1940 in Ross County to Orville and Helen Flesher DeLong.

    Survivors include two daughters, Jody Rothe of North Carolina and Christina Perry of Chillicothe; two sons, John DeLong of Chillicothe and James DeLong of Circleville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-;aw, Philip and JoAnne DeLong of Beaverton, Oregon; sister Charolette Jean Corrigan of Chillicothe; and sisters and brothers-in-law Brenda and David Reid of New Hampshire and Mary Anne and Larry Gates of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was prededed in death by his parents and grandparents.

    Mr. DeLong was a Navy veteran and had worked for the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe.  He was a member of the AMVETS and the American Legion.

    Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday in Haller Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Rutherford officiating.  Private graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, at the convenience of the family.  Friends may call noon to 1 p.m. Friday at Haller's.
