Michael Alan Thatcher

    Michael A. Thatcher, 51, of Plyley's Lane, died at 4:45 a.m. today, Friday December 4, 1992 at his residence following an extended illness.

    He was born August 14, 1941 in Ross County to Harold and Helen Poe Thatcher.  He was married June 16, 1963 to the former Jane E. Irvin, who survives.

    Also surviving are his parents of Chillicothe; daughter Cynthia E. McNeely, Chillicothe; daughters and sons-in-law Cheri and Chip Maxwell, Kingston; and Cathy and Scott Dalton, Chillicothe; grandchildren Amanda McNeely, Chelsea and Kirk Maxwell, and Brittany Dalton; his mother-in-law, Grace Irvin; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Gene (Joanne) Cochenour, Nancy Gilmore, Phyllis Henry, and Mrs. Ron (Barbara) Stephenson; several nieces and a nephew.  He was predeceased by a brother, Tim Thatcher.

    Mr. Thatcher was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church and was an employee of Kenworth.  He was a member of F.O.E. Aerie 600; Ross County Historical Society; a former member of the Convention and Visitors Bureau; and a former member of the Chillicothe Design and Review Board.  Michael is the author of the History of Printing in Ross County, whcih is to be published at a later date.

    Funeral services are to be held 1 p.m. Monday in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Erter officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. 

    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 311 W. Water Street.
