Neil E. DePugh, 81, of Waverly Ohio went to be with the Lord on Sunday July 14th at 4:44am following an extended illness. Neil was born July 26, 1942 in Ross County to the late Gale P. DePugh and Margaret L Dyer DePugh.
He was preceded in death by his brother Patrick DePugh. Neil was the eldest of seven children. He will be forever missed by his surviving siblings: Ray (Marie) DePugh, Dick (Tammy) DePugh, Danny (Theresa) DePugh, Rocky (Clarkette) DePugh, and Tonita (Randy) Dyke.
Also surviving are Neil’s five children: Tracy (Stacey) DePugh, Machele (Dicky McBee), Jacinda (Shawn) Mullen, Nicole DePugh (Thomas Skyler Eliott) all of Chillicothe and Neil (Whitney) DePugh of Beckley, West Virginia. Neil also had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a special friend - Juanita Meddock , and neighbors, Gene and Dawn.
Neil retired in 2000 after 41 years of working for the Chilpaco Paper Mill, having spent most of his career in the Machine Room, ultimately as a foreman on the #23 machine. Employees of Chilpaco referred to Neil as “Big Daddy”. He was also an outstanding gardener, winning first place for his produce at the Ross County Fair.
Neil was a member of Mt. Tabor Community Christian church. On Saturday August 24th from 12:00 till 2:00 a celebration of his life will be held at Mt. Tabor Fellowship Hall located at 6043 Mt. Tabor Road – Chillicothe.
