Darlene Mays (Huff)

Darlene Louise Mays Huff, 84, of Chillicothe, Ohio died at 10:30 am Tuesday December 16, 2025 at the Autumn Hills Memory Care in Portland, Oregon.  She was born March 14, 1941 in Chillicothe to the late Emerson W. and Marguerite Mays (Graves).

   While in Chillicothe she continued the 50-year-old family businesses of Mays’ Electric and Mays’ Mobile Home Court until 2018 when she relocated to Oregon to be with her children and grandchildren.  Her zest for life and her light-up-the-world smile opened hearts wherever she traveled.  Whether it was curiosity, a love for the sun, or finding the perfect gift, Darlene’s sense of adventure and care was felt by all.  Her last seven years in Oregon were spent seeing her children and grandchildren daily, attending all their celebrations, walking beautiful Oregon trails, and sitting by the ocean at Cannon Beach.

   She was preceded in death by the father of her children. William Huff, Jr. She is survived by brother Dennis Mays of Rochester, Minnesota; son Will Huff, daughter-in-law Leticia Perez; granddaughter Kalia Huff; grandson Liam Huff; daughter Tracey Huff Locke; son-in-law Ed Locke; grandson Ian Locke; his wife Georgia Locke; and granddaughter Liza Locke; all of Wilsonville, Oregon.

   Plans for Darlene’s Celebration of Life will take place in Chillicothe will take place in the summer of 2026.
