Karen Marie (Wetzel) Rebman, 83 of Chillicothe, Ohio died peacefully at home early Wednesday morning, November 13, 2024 after a brief illness. Born November 6, 1941 to the late Clyde Aubrey and Margaret Ellen (Arledge) Wetzel, she was preceded in death by the love of her life Carl Rebman. They shared almost 60 wonderful years of love and laughter together. She was also preceded in death by sisters Claudia (Wetzel) Thacker and Gerty (Wetzel) Tyler.
She is survived by daughters Patty Rebman, Susan Rebman, Teresa (Ray) Everhart, Cathy (Brian) Angus and son David (Lisa) Rebman, seven amazing grandchildren, Jennifer (Dustin) England, Leslie (Josh) Penning, Ben (Laurén) Coates, Ashley Buckalew, Chrissy Buckalew, Ross Rebman, Alex Buckalew, and numerous beloved great-grandchildren.
Karen was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. She won the Mother of the Year award given by Governor Rhodes in the 1970s for her volunteer work at Pioneer School where her daughter Patty attended. She, husband Carl and daughter Patty were a host family for the Chillicothe Paints professional baseball team for 10 years, where they made many dear and close friends with fellow team supporters. She also loved being in the company of her rescue dogs, Gracie Lou, Grace Kelly and Cooper.
Karen loved to travel, visiting or cruising to over 35 countries in her lifetime. She also loved camping and traveling in her motor home with her husband and children. She rode along the Great Alaskan Highway, wintered in Texas and Florida and visited many state and national parks along the way. She especially loved the Florida Keys and listening to Jimmy Buffett and Keith Urban. A lifelong music enthusiast, she attended many concerts and even attended the CMT Music Awards.
We grieve the loss of life and joy she brought to everyone she knew.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Monday at the funeral home.
