Charles L. White

(05/31/40 - 05/17/19)

Charles L. White passed away on May 17, 2019 in Florida from pancreatic cancer.

Charles had achieved the level of a three-star general when he was a CIA agent in Senior Executive Service in Washington, D.C..  After retiring from the CIA, he taught for 17 years and had only a few days left of the current school year at Pembrook Pines High School in Ft. Lauderdale when he passed away.

Charles loved dogs, and his most recent one, Luke, died almost a year to the day before Charles himself passed on.  Charles also loved cars, and he insisted on dressing well and looking his best before leaving his home. His students voted him Best Dressed more than once.

Charles attended the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and faithfully went to services there every Sunday even when he was very ill.

He is survived by his partner of 40 years, Julian Colbeth, and his mother, Viola Finch, of Chillicothe, Ohio.
