Rachel J. (Brown) Loel, 78, of Chillicothe, passed 5:59 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. She was born January 27, 1944, in South Carolina, to the late Ralph and Maude (Knight) Brown. On October 1, 1965, she married the love of her life, Howard Loel, Jr., who preceded her in death on December 26, 2012. Surviving are her children, Rebecca Loel and Howard (Laura) Loel, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Cory (Ally) Loel, Caleb Loel and Cara Loel; a sister-in-law, Carol Loel; brothers-in-law, Bill Loel and Frank (Gloria) Loel; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Rachel was a 1962 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She retired from the Chillicothe VA Medical Center after more than 30 years of service. Rachel enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
