ray was not just a friend he was my mentor, when it came to sports,we would play whiffle ball in his back yard, break windows, his brother would get up hand us the ball, and go back to sleep, we always seem to play something, that invoved sports, summer school, we would last a week, sometimes two, but no matter what win or lose, he never got angry, he liked to win, ray was to me a kind, person, would do anything for a friend,i never heard him say anything negative about anyone, after fifty years my favorite ray memory was, the hilltop, game, he got hit so hard had to come out, but every play he would try to return, the couch, finally had, assistants, sit with him, but that was ray, no quite,  ray would understand my poor spelling, he was a understanding person, so ray fifty years, only tody i find you, when you look down from,a place you deserve to be , say hello to God for me, and ray bless you for being you, good by

We played hard together and hard on different teams. The picture of you tackling me in our year book was one I will always remember. May the bird of paradise fly up your nose!!!!!!!!!!!

Ray  what can I say?  You were most intense football player I ever knew.  How my life could've changed if only Bryant could have blocked you.  You ran over Phil grabbed my shoulders and Hoseapple took my legs and I went down I felt and heard my knee go out.  I would never be the same again.  I have no regrets I could not have the life I've had if that didn't happen.  I'll never forget what you said to me at our twentih reunion " best running back I ever saw".  I  lucky you were on my team and I proud to be your team mate.  I bet you're a linebacker on God's team
