John Young

John Young, 52, a resident of Fort Wayne and formerly of rural Albion, died at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne where he had been admitted earlier in the day.
Born at Wolf Lake on July 15, 1954, a son of Lloyd T. and Ruth Anna (Brown) Young, his formative years were spent in Green Township in Noble County. He graduated from Churubusco High School in 1972 and earned his bachelor's in business administration from IPFW in 1976.
Upon completing his education, he was employed in management for J.C. Penney and had worked in several cities for the company. He then worked for Lincoln Life Insurance Company and later was employed by Waterfield Mortgage Co., Inc. in Fort Wayne, until the firm closed in 2005.
In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening and landscaping.
Survivors include his parents, Lloyd and Ruth Anna Young of Albion; a sister, Carol Young of Albion; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral service is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco, with the Rev. Craig Alan Myers, pastor of Blue River Church of the Brethren, officiating. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Interment is at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
