Susan was so full of life and so fun loving! Unfortunately, her husband took her life around 1977. Everybody loved Susan and so many of our Class of '72 showed up for her wake it was really touching. Our dear friend's life was cut way too short and we were all devestated by her tragic death. She never had the children and grandchildren we all are so fortunate to have and she didn't live long enough to experience all of life's joys. You are dearly loved and missed Susan.
Sue was one of my best friends throughout junior high school and high school. We shared many experiences growing up and becoming young adults. From worrying about school work to plans for college and who was involved in the latest romance. We stayed friends right up until she was killed by her husband in January 1977 and I still think about her often and wonder how her life would've turned out. She is greatly missed!!
Susan Ebare had a profound impact on my life. As a very shy student, Sue was one of the first in class to reach out to me in friendship. It was through Sue that I met my very best friend, to this day, Mary Giacobbi. The 3 of us were inseparable throughout high school and even had nicknames for each other! We shared sleep overs, pizzas, movies, growing pains, "The Teen Scene", boy crushes and a lot of laughs. I even continued to see Sue during college breaks and double dated with her and her husband Keith. Devastingly, one weekend I picked Mary up at the bus station, who was visiting me at school. She was crying as she got off the bus with a newspaper article in her hand, reporting that Keith had murdered Sue. Despite the great strides women's rights have taken, domestic violence remains, sadly, all too prevalent for women in our culture, indeed, throughout the world. Sue was a lovely young women, vivacious and fun loving with a heart of gold. Always looking for love, she thought she had found it in Keith, alas, it was misguided. Sue enriched my life, high school was a better experience with her loving support. My lifelong friend Mary remains so dear and I'm grateful to Sue's memory for connecting us.
