Rosie's angels

My family has started a charity called Rosie's Angels named after my mom who is suffering from Leukemia and has only been given a few months to live.  The main focus of Rosie's Angels is to help the elderly especially in the rest home settings. At the present many of our family have volunteered to work at The Anderson and we hope to expand to other local rest homes too. We also are in the process of preparing care packages to new chemo patients.

Getting a charity off the ground has been more work than I ever imagined but my family is determined to make this work.  We have gone through all of the legal steps except receiving our tax exempt number and the attorney is preparing those papers now.

In order to have a charity and to help others money is a necessity.  We are having a benefit for Rosie's Angels at the American Legion Post 72 in Mt. Carmel.  The benefit will include live and silent auctions, a quarter auction, and split the pot.  The auction begins at 6:30 and runs until 10:30.  We have many great items to auction including Reds tickets, zoo passes, gift certificates, autographed cards from Boomer and Tim Krumrie.

I live in the western part of Kentucky, about 225 miles from here and my church is having a fish fry and auction to benefit Rosie's Angels.  Unfortunately that is the same week as the reunion so I won't be able to attend.  I have so been looking forward to seeing everyone but my obligations have to rest with Rosie's Angels.  If you are local and are able to attend the auction, that would be super!

You can learn more about Rosie's Angels at out websites angelsandmoms.com or rosies-angels.org ( still going through construction stages).  If you have a business and would like to donate something just contact me either by e-mail rosiesangels7@yahoo.com or call 270-256-4721.  Hope to see you there
