"Crack Boom Bam" 2013, some thoughts...

I hope everyone had a good time at my "bucket list" project! (which has since become an annual event) 2014 will be here soon enough and May 10th, 2014 marks the second reunion/concert we will produce. We are going "all out" with the 2014 show!

Ken Kaffenburg and I had a conversation at our 35th reunion. He remarked that in his opinion, "separating the class was a bad idea". This refers to the trades and Industry section of the school vs. the acedemic section (or traditional classroom offerings of the era). I listened to his reasoning and came to the conclusion that he was correct in his observation. That conversation stuck with me for the next few years. In light of the political climate of the times, an unpopular war and accompanying protests, our society was divided along generational lines. Within our school, we were divided as well. One uniting aspect, (perhaps the only uniting aspect) was the music of that decade. The music was always there. You listened to the same music I did, as I sat in a bunker halfway around the world in 1972/73. Wherever our young lives took us during that decade, to college, to a factory, to an office complex or to war, we were united by a soundtrack! With Kens comment in mind, I wondered if it was possible to hold some sort of musical event billed as a class reunion, that would bring everyone together? The results exceeded my expectations!

It was a joy to stand onstage and see all of you together! I wish I'd had more time to socialize with all of you, but that was next to impossible. I hope that you will support our continuing efforts and future events! We have much more in mind. :)
