We knew Donald Lawson as Barry in high school. He and Elaine Winkleman dated during high school, but it was Kay Schaffer from the class of 1972 that Barry eventually married. He leaves a son, Denali and daughter Kiwi. They moved to Colorado years ago. Barry volunteered for several organizations, mostly directed toward youth intervention. He also worked for Estes Valley Recreation and Park District. Barry's father still lives in Mt. Carmel. Mr. Lawson shops frequently at the store where my husband is the pharmacist. It is through him that I learned of Barry's passing. I believe Barry had pancreatic cancer. But I only learned of this several weeks before he died.
