The following message was sent by Octave LaBath following the death of his sister, Donnajane.  Please feel free to post your own memoriam to Donnajane from years gone bye.

Please be advised that my sister, Donnajane LaBath Gibson, suffered an "acute" stroke on Wednesday. She was taken to Jewish Hospital where they called in the "stroke team" from University Hospital.  They transferred her to University Hospital that afternoon.  She was taken to Hospice of Hamilton on Friday.  She passed this morning, 29 September 2014.

Her visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 with the funeral at 11:00. Visitation and the funeral will be at Hartzell United Methodist Churh, Blue Ash, OH.

I am saddened by the sudden passing of Donna. From grade school to high school we shared many activities: church, girl scouts, classes. She always had such a good head on her shoulders and treated everyone with the same friendliness and concern. Donna, Octave and their whole family were such good examples of hard-working, concerned people.

I remember Donna as an adventurous, fun loving person.  My sister was very close to Donna's sister (still is) and we four found ourselves together on a semi-regular basis.  At school, at church, at scouts, dance classes - I was shy, she was a live wire.  Wherever she is I know she's bringing laughter and joy.

May your grief be short.  May her love for life be your memory and comfort.

I most remember Donnajane from grade school and on the playground.  She played hard as we all did and I remember she always had trouble keeping her glasses on the bridge of her nose.  I last spoke with her in 2008 when trying to encourage her to attend our 45th reunion.  She did not remember me then and I wished I would have stayed in better contact with her over the years.  She was a very nice girl when we were kids and I suspect she grew into a really nice woman as we matured.  Knowing her older brother, Octave, better in recent times, I'm sure her passing is a tremendous loss for her family.  May she rest in peace.
