In Memory

Theresa Carroll (Murphy)

Theresa C. Murphy (nee Carroll) was born on August 9th, 1962 and born to eternal life on Wednesday February 12th, 2025 at the age of 62 years. She is survived by her loving husband Dennis Murphy. Dear mother to Timothy (Cienna) Murphy, Shannon Murphy, and Maureen Murphy (fiancé Hope DeShaney). Dear sister to Anne (Robert) Behrend and Patricia (Brian) Bacon and sister-in-law to Dan Murphy and Diane Biever. Also survived by other relatives and friends and her beloved Morkie, Bailey.

Theresa was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Beverly and Pete Carroll. With her dad working for General Motors, her family moved around a bit, also living in Michigan, Ohio, New York, and eventually landing in Milwaukee, where she met the love of her life, Dennis. They met working at Columbia Hospital, where they gained friends that turned into family on 5 West. Her nursing career spanned over 38 years, in oncology and hospice. She has left lifelong impressions on her patients, being a sense of comfort when things seemed so unknown.

With moving around often in her childhood, she wanted to create roots for her own family. She and Dennis chose Brown Deer to raise their three children. Theresa was always involved in activities with the kids; PTO, spelling tests, post-prom committee, spaghetti dinners, Booster Club, and being the biggest cheerleader for the kid’s involvement in football, band, orchestra, baseball, softball, dance, and volleyball. She was known for her “Murphy Cookies” at these events as well. She loved nothing more than being a Mom. This included her puppy, Bailey who joined our family in 2016.

When she had free time, she loved puzzles and musicals, having season tickets the last couple of years to the Broadway series. She also loved watching her birds in her numerous bird feeders in the backyard. She sent us the prettiest cardinals the morning that she passed.

We are grateful for the extra time we got with her, thanks to the clinical trial at Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.
