Alas, we have lost one of the Newfield gang. Yosie was a great guy. You might have missed him as he was a really good guy although a little on the quiet side. He was one of the first to go off into the Navy after graduation. I remember when his hitch was up and he came over to show me his new GTO and share some "war stories". Dan and I were friends from Bond Hill elementary all the way through Woodward and beyond.. He was a good friend and would go out of his way to lend a hand if needed. The one thing about Yosie, he was a true, loyal friend. I could always count on him. I tried to convince him to come to a few of the reunions, but, unfortunately was never successful.  I am glad to say I can count him as one of my good friends. RIP

Thanks Dale for your kind comments.  I will forward this on to Dan's wife and son.

Dan and I were both "65" ers but our lives have been intertwined since then.....I married his cousin,  my sister married his brother, Steve, and then, later in life, as fate would have it, my father married his Mom (both widowed) and he became my stepbrother.  (Twisted family tree!)

Dan had been in poor health for a number of years but was always able to fight back.  Yesterday, his fight was over and hopefully he is now at peace....although, being the agnostic (outwardly) that he was, he would probably laugh at those sentiments.  I will miss his dry humor.

His funeral will be tomorrow (wed. 5/23 ) at 1PM at Weil's funeral home.

Sandy

So sorry to hear of Dan's passing. Hope he is at peace. What a family history Sandra described. May his memory be for a blessing and remember all the joys and good times will carry on his legacy. Elaine Moritz Owen
