One of the sweetest, kindest, smartest and  prettiest girls I ever met. Despite her model looks she was humble and always said hello. So sad for her family. Wish I could have known her better. May God bless your family.  Rest in peace, Melina.

Gentlemen: I agree. Melina and I only had one class together (Mr. Hayes 11th grade social studies) but she was always cheerful and engaged in whatever was going on.

I never knew Melina well. I don't think we ever shared a class, but the biggest barrier to our acquaintance was that I found her so appealing, I was too intimidated, too tongue tied, to engage her in conversation. She didn't attend either our 20th or 25th Reunions, but at one of those, she submitted a truly engaging essay on her life since high school that was so creatively written and absudly comedic that I truly wished I had gotten to know her better.

While I had few, if any classes with her, her brother Joe and I were on the same roster more than a couple times. I was in touch with him briefly when we were organizing rhe 50th reunion; as I recall, he was dealing with a challenging health issue. My heart goes out to him and all who were in her life.

I am heartbroken learning of the passing of my sweet friend Melina. We were close friends in our Junior year and she and I spent many fun moments, while meeting her 11 brothers and sisters as I would help her look after her young siblings in their beautiful Clifton home. Sweet, beautiful, talented writer, who had a soft giggle and a welcoming smile that could light up the night. We lost touch after graduation after she moved to Oregon. She continued her passion in writing. I will always think of her with such warmth and kindness, and she made the world and all those who knew her better while she was here. Love you and miss you Melina. A favorite lyric of song I love is "there's another angel sitting
around the throne tonight, I know that is Melina. I hope she said hello to my beloved husband whom also made the world better and brighter while he was here. Rest in peace.
