Samuel Cavalier - Class Of 1979

Samuel Joseph Cavalier, Jr.

Sam was born in Redlands, CA on January 13, 1961. He passed away in Sacramento, CA on February 23, 2003 at the age of 42. After graduating from Mesa Verde High School, Sam learned the glazer trade and opened Sierra View Glass 12 years ago. Sam's warm smile, infectious laugh and love of the outdoors will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. Sam left his mark on numerous young softball players throughout Northern California during his several years of coaching. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Christie Cavalier of Meadow Vista, and three wonderful children, Nicki, Joe and Michelle, who were his pride and joy. Also survived by his father Sam Cavalier, Sr. and Pat Cavalier of Sacramento, in-laws Dave and Penny Langhout of Esparto, sister-in-law Debbie and Matt Lamson of Antelope, their three children Amanda, Mathew and Brian, brother-in-law Alan and Linda Langhout of Swansboro, their two children Ben and Jon. His mother Barbara Cavalier and brother Danny Cavalier preceded him in death. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, March 3, 2003 at the First Congregational Church, 710 Auburn Ravine Road in Auburn, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cavalier Family Memorial Fund, c/o Placer Sierra Bank, 16800 Placer Hills Rd., Meadow Vista CA 95722. Arrangements handled by Sierra Foothills Funeral Services of Auburn.
