Terry, everyone called him Tubby when I first met him, was one of the first people I got to know when we moved from Newport Beach up to Claremont in the late summer of 1961.   He was a good friend and helped make the transition into a new school fairly easy.  After high school we saw each other less frequently and by middle college years had pretty well lost touch.  I learned of his death in 1988, not sure if he died that year or sometime earlier. I will remember his sense of humro and will be forever grateful to him for making sure that I felt welcome in Claremont.
