As we both know, you could run longer and faster and you would always win both arm and leg wrestling, but I have to say thanks for letting me win an occasional game of Monopoly.
Cathy, there will always be a place in my heart for you. Thank you for your support for us in the military. I don't know how you found me in Germany but it made a lasting impression in my life.
I never knew Cathy very well. But I became aware of her in 9th grade. That was 1959. My parents had moved to California in June of that year. Before this I had attended only Catholic schools. So for me, 9th in Claremont was, "Welcome to the Jungle". But that's another story.
Cathy was the "IT" girl of the 9th grade. At least most of the guys thought so . She and Jim Ketchem(sp) were the "couple".
There was a song on the radio by the Everly Brothers called, " Cathy's Clown". So naturally the guys would tease Jim by singing the lyrics of the song.
When I visualize the earliest years at Oakmont School, all the way back to kindergarten, a most persistent image is your smiling face and long curls. You remained a beacon of intelligence, grace and charm all the way to graduation, and I'm certain, throughout your life. The thought of not seeing you again is very, very sad.

That's what I remeber about Cathy.
