Your Claremont Class of '63 50th Reunion arrived in the mail today. It is with great sadness that I tell you that Bill Thatcher passed away last week from pancreatic cancer. He had fought the disease valiantly for three years but finally lost his battle on September 2. I'm sure he would have enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with classmates and remember his high school days. Best wishes for a successful celebration.
Sincerely,
Cindy Thatcher

I'm so sorry to hear about Bill's passing, I was hoping to see him at the 50th reunion. We were great buddies in elementary school/junior high and friends in high school. We shared a lot of adventures growing up in Claremont and I think back on them fondly. Danny

Although I lost touch with Bill over the years, my heart feels a little less full on hearing of his death. Bill was probably the best and closest friend I will ever have.
We lived and grew up two houses from each other and were always together(through thick and thin), from elementary through high school and after. I always considered him as one of my brothers and my parents considered him as their "other" son - he even called my mother "Mom". Also, he is the only person I ever knew that would walk into our house, open the refrigerator, and help himself to whatever he felt like. :) I guess you could say he felt welcome and at home. We wouldn't have had it any other way!!
You will always be part of me and I will never forget you. My thoughts and prayers will always be with you! Love you, Dale
