John will always be remembered for Curly in his role at Oklahoma. His voice was so beautiful that people would be in silence so they could listen to him. He had a great sense of humor and love humanity. He enjoyed listening to Ray Charles and reading Hemingway. He loved to surf and enjoyed interacting with people. He was my first love so he has always held a special place in my heart.
John was in my class in elementary school. We were partners Square dancing since we were friends. He lived around the corner from me and would hang out. I knew he had a good voice but wow in Oklahoma he really came out and other students finally noticed him. Of course, after graduation, he moved and we lost touch as friends, but I did see him at our high school reunions. He was a good friend and a good listener and now he is singing in heaven
I am going to miss John Cook, he had a great tenor voice in Concert Choir, and he was absolutely great as Curly in Oklahoma. God bless you my friend, I look forward to seeing you again when its my time to leave this Earth.
John definitely will be remembered for singing in Oklahoma as Curly. That has forever been imprinted on my memories. Then, his son Cheyne and my son Jared Malan (both class of 99') became great friends for many many years. Such a small coincidence, yet not so much........ Both Jared and I wish His wife, Alecia, other son, Johnny and daughter, Amber many, many prayers and may love rest gently in your broken heart 💔. >
