Christine Marie Pooth Powell May 4, 2006

Christine Marie Pooth Powell, 55, Dunmore, died Thursday at the Hospice Unit of Moses Taylor Hospital.

Born January 22, 1951, daughter of the late Joseph Pooth and Phyllis Noecker Pooth Smith, she was previously employed by the Jewish Home and worked 16 years at Spotless Cleaners until her illness. She had resided in Chinchilla and was a graduate of Abington Heights High School, class of 1968.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and she also enjoyed going to fairs and home improvement shows.

Surviving are a daughter, Dawn Powell, with whom she resided; a son, Scott Powell, Dunmore; a granddaughter, April, and a grandson, Brian, both of Scranton; three sisters, Jacqueline Walsh, Chinchilla; Alene Scherer, Pine Grove, and Stephanie Gowel, Scranton; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Delores Portanova.
