I've never forgotten what Mr. Brutico taught me in driver training. I "hear" his instructios all the time...especially when parallel parking, and have shared his "trick" with others over the years. His birthday was the day before mine and I used to bake him a cake. He remains to this day one of my favorite teachers.

Angelo Anthony Brutico Sr., a lifelong resident of Old Forge, died Friday evening at home. His beloved wife is the former Dominica Minella.
Born in Old Forge, son of the late Anthony Sr. and Rose Salerno Brutico, he was a 1941 graduate of Old Forge High School. Angelo then attended the University of Scranton and later graduated from East Stroudsburg State College. During World War II, he served in the Army with the 10th Mountain Division of Colorado Springs. He was a teacher in the Abington Heights School District in Clarks Summit for 29 years. Angelo was also the co-owner of Brutico's Restaurant Inc., Old Forge, for many years. An avid golfer, he held membership in the Country Club of Scranton, Clarks Summit. He was a longtime member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. He was a parishioner of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge, and belonged to the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre.
Also surviving are a son, Angelo A. Brutico Jr. and wife, Susan, Malvern; three daughters, Rosemary Gallagher and husband, Joseph, Bedford, Mass.; Patricia Picoli and husband, William, Wilton, Conn.; and Catherine Barns and husband, Timothy, Wayland, Mass.; five grandchildren, Caroline, William, Timothy, Angelo III and Lydia; two brothers, Francis Brutico and wife, Marie; and Carmen Brutico and wife, Rose, all of Old Forge; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Anthony J. Brutico.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Prince of Peace Parish at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, West Grace and Lawrence streets, Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. Louis T. Kaminski, pastor. Those planning to attend are asked to proceed directly to the church. Interment services will follow in Old Forge Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. A Catholic wake service will be held at 6.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either Prince of Peace Parish, 123 West Grace St., Old Forge, PA 18518 or the donor's favorite charity.
