Harrington Obituary
Robert J. Harrington, 69, formerly of Easton, Pa., passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024, at the Bristol House Memory Care, Warrington, Pa., after a long battle with Dementia. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Renee A. Hopkins Harrington. She passed away on June 11, 2022.
Born in Scranton and raised in Clarks Summit, he was the son of the late Robert and Jeanette Harper Harrington. He was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and he attended Penn State University. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a store manager with Lowe's in Easton, Pa.
Throughout his life, Robert dedicated himself to a successful career in retail which required him to move frequently living in West Virginia, Maryland, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. During his youth he spent his summers at Lake Winola boating and water skiing. In high school, he played the trumpet in the marching band, ran track, and was a member of the ski club. He also loved playing the organ for family and friends. He met his wife Renee while working at Arby's and went on to be a devoted family man whom cherished spending time with his girls.
Robert was a caring and kind individual, known for his active and social nature. He loved his "toys" owning motorcycles, boats, campers, jet skis, ATV's, snowmobiles and RC planes. He adored his dogs and treasured their company. Vacations were a highlight for Robert as he enjoyed exploring different places and creating lasting memories with his family. In his free time he indulged in various hobbies; cooking, woodworking, camping, gardening and photography.
He will be dearly missed by his family, and friends and all those that had the pleasure of meeting him. His memory will forever be cherished and his legacy of love, kindness and adventure will continue to inspire.
Robert will be loving remembered by his three daughters, Stacy Harrington, Olyphant; Melissa Casale and husband, Joe, Haleiwa, Hawaii; and Heather Harrington, Easton; a granddaughter, Madison Radle, Olyphant; and a great-grandson, Harlan Grayson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Bailey.
Robert's funeral will be Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with services by Pastor Scott McGrady. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
