Roger Landsiedel

Roger C. Landsiedel

Roger C. Landsiedel, 70 of Dalton, passed away Saturday morning at Allied Hospice.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Charles K. and Audrey M. Dickinson Landsiedel and was a 1973 graduate of Abington Heights. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Davenhall Landsiedel. The couple would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this December. Barb helped navigate many trips to visit national parks but especially enjoyed traveling to Alaska to visit with their son David.

“The Dude”, as many called him, spent his life working on the family farm which eventually led into truck driving.  Roger then returned back to his true passion of farming alongside his two sons, Eric and Travis. He enjoyed visiting with neighbors when they came to pick produce. He could often be found at the building tinkering, out in the field, or on a tractor making hay when the sun shines.

Roger was a former member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, The Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association as well as the Mill City Sportsman’s Club. He also enjoyed talking with his grandsons and was always proud of their accomplishments.

Also surviving are daughter, Alicia Tench and husband Guy, Mill City; three sons: Eric Landsiedel and wife Leanne, Schultzville, Travis Landsiedel (Brittney), Schultzville, and David Singer, Bellingham WA: grandchildren Owen and Ethan Tench and Lily Landsiedel: a sister, Linda Davison, Schultzville; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 6 pm with services by Karen Rickaby at the Lawrence E Young Funeral Home, 418 S State St., Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 3 pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

The family would like to thank the staff at Regional Hospital and Allied Hospice.
