  • Judith Weeks Comerford, 66, Clarks Summit, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday evening at her home.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late L. James and Catherine Powell Weeks. Judi graduated with honors from Shippensburg University with a Bachelor’s in Library Science, and earned a certification in Elementary Education from Marywood University. She was an accomplished teacher, librarian, singer, loving mother and friend. Prior to retirement, Judi worked as a librarian for the Diocese of Scranton. She was a devoted member of the LCBC Church – Clarks Summit. She was known for her compassion, honesty and kindness.

Surviving are a son, John James Comerford of Philadelphia; daughter, Bess Comerford of Los Angeles; and sister, Dr. Janet Weeks.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. James P. Weeks, who passed in 2005.

A funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at LCBC Church, 607 North Abington Road, Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Clarks Green Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
