Craig Farrimond

Jack Craig Farrimond

July 27, 1950 - December 6, 2016

Jack Craig Farrimond, our husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, brother-in-law, and friend, returned to his Heavenly Father surrounded by family on December 6th, 2016, following a valiant four year battle with multiple cancers.  He was born in St. Anthony, Idaho on July 27, 1950 to Jack and Renee Farrimond.  He graduated from Clearfield High School, and shortly thereafter served as a faithful LDS missionary in the Central States Mission.  Following his mission, Craig married his sweetheart, Debra (Debbie) Howell, in the Ogden Temple in March 1975.

Craig and Debbie spent 21 years together, and had three wonderful children. Throughout their years together, Craig and Debbie lived in Washington Terrace, Riverdale, Clinton and Layton where they created many lasting memories.  Debbie’s passing on November 21, 1996 was filled with heartache for Craig and their three children.

Craig then met his beloved Carolyn, and they were sealed in the Bountiful Temple on October 6, 1998.  Craig and his three children, and Carolyn and her three children made the transition into being a combined family.  Craig loved to be surrounded by family, and it was his greatest joy to have them nearby.

Throughout his life, Craig worked hard to provide for his family.  He and his father owned and ran a plumbing and heating business for many years.  Craig dedicated over 41 years to Hill Air Force Base as a sheet metal mechanic where he formed many lasting friendships that meant a great deal to him.

Craig was a great story teller, he was always the first to make a joke, and was the life of every party.  Craig was a friend to all, and had the most tender of feelings for his family.  Craig was a “Jack” of many trades and a perfecter of all. Craig loved gardening, and was known for his green thumb.  He was an avid rock hounder, whose rock collection is extensive and eclectic.  He was never without a rock or two in his pocket. Craig enjoyed bird watching, being outdoors, and was a collector of oddities.  He was always willing to lend a hand of service, offer wisdom without judgment, and extend genuine kindness to others.  He was known to crack a joke or surprise the unsuspecting to lighten any situation.  He was a big tease, and even in his final days, Craig was upbeat and jovial.

Craig is survived by his wife, Carolyn McBride Farrimond; their children Dustin, Rob M. (Kristy), Ryan, Jennette, Ryan M. (Jennifer), Heidi and Alex C.; 9 grandchildren: Aiden, Kennedy, Madilyn, Diego, Page, Bennett, Carson, Audrey, and Jayden; three sisters, Jill (Robert) Oliver, Shauna (Keith) Eplin, and Tammy Farrimond; and his loyal companion, Charlie Boy.

The family would like to thank Inspiration Hospice, especially Leeann and Olena for their gentle, loving and consistent care of Craig.  The most sincere thanks is also extended to the countless friends, neighbors, and loved ones who came to visit Craig and Carolyn and filled their home with love and kindness during these last several months.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Fairfield Ward, 3290 N. 1050 E., Layton.  Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
