Joan graduated from ClearWeld High School and attended Utah State both in her teens and 40s. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development. Joan loved to learn and share her knowledge with others. Her love for arts and music was shared in her home and many church callings. She played the \ute, piano/organ and guitar. Even her “mad” song was played on the piano. She made cute drawings while she talked on the phone with friends and family. Joan loved her family close, extended and the ones she added that were not blood. She genuinely loved people and getting to know them and helping them. It’s no surprise she still had friends from high school she cherished. Joan loved the church and its teachings. She held many callings in the church to include Primary, Young Woman’s and Relief Society. Also, whenever she was called on to play the piano or organ. Joan always had a blast planning the fun parties and dressing up crazy especially with the kids for church. Genealogy was her passion and she shared with everyone what she had found. Especially the stories of ancestors and the amazing things they did and trials they survived. Her love of nature had her and Larry taking rides to many places and traveling to explore and take pictures. It’s no surprise she loved to visit the Garden of the Gods. She had an amazing laugh that was contagious and a fun welcoming spirit! Joan loved the holidays especially Christmas and loved to have her spiritual and then fun Christmas Eve party and invite all who would come.

Mom you were a wonderful example of kindness and love. You showed us simple joys in life and the beauty all around us. Please keep track of us on your journey from the other side. We LOVE and CHERISH YOU FOREVER!!!
