Our friend, Mike died unexpectedly on May 17, 2010 of a sudden heart attack. He will be missed by all who had the priviledge of knowing him. He had a contagious smile and a kind heart and was one of those people that made the world a better place because he was in it.
I remember that Mike and I were both into karate when we were in junior high. We often went to the same class sessions. One day, I went with him and his parents to a karate tournament that was held at Taylorsville High School. Mike participated in a few of the events and did reasonably well, I remember. I sat in the stands with Mike's parents and cheered him on. I enjoyed that day very much. I will always remember Mike's sense of humor, and the fact that he could always make me smile.
Mike made me laugh...he was that rare guy who understood humor and how it worked in making people feel comfortable and at ease...I will always remember when he said "why does Utah have the Jazz and New Orleans have the Saints?" So clever....Mike was to young to be taken so suddenly....I will be more grateful and appreciative in remembering him...
