Having moved from New York that summer, I was dreading the first day of 10th grade at CHS. Fortunately, Kitt and I shared the first three letters of our last names, so I got to sit next to the very pretty and sweet Kitt every day. She was also a recent transplant, from Racine, so we had that in common. Kitt became a good friend over the next three years and contributed a lot to my eventual enjoyment of school.
