And to think I almost missed this truely incredible weekend. Thank you to the entire committee for your hard work and committment. It was amazing seeing so many old friends (and i don't mean age!!) I hope many of us will keep in touch. No matter where we go, no matter who we meet in our life, there will never be the connections like the ones we made in high school. Love to all...

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in our reunion for making it a huge success. This just shows what a great school and class we still have after 40 years. It is very hard to put into words, my appreciation to those who worked behind the scenes to make this an incredible event. The passion and attention you showed to each detail make this a work of art. And don’t kid yourselves; although it was hard work, it was mostly fun for all. The attendance at the Maggiano’s event and at The Embassy Suites symbolizes what went into the planning of this reunion and what separates us from all other classes. This all started more than 40 years ago when we walked into the doors of Heights High and created that spirit that made it all worth it then and still does now.

This is not only about who we each knew, but also about all the nice people we recently met who were in our class. It is now about all the great parents and grandparents we are, or sons and daughters who are so attentive in caring for parents. To those who had a fear in coming, I only hope you enjoyed the event and are wondering why you weren’t there before. Know that you really made this event much better for everyone. The talent on the stage, beginning with Jim Polster and those who went onstage with him to perform was amazing. Our accomplishments off stage are understated in our memory book.

So to the entire reunion committee, Joanne, Pat, Sheryl, Bob, Tom, Donna, Keith, Kathy, Sue, Natelane, Howard and Val (and, of course, anyone omitted), thanks for all the hard work and kindness you showed. I consider you all great friends. To my Co-Chairs, Jim and Sue, I know you did much to plan this; just know you both did a super job. I cannot thank you enough.
Until we meet again!

Everyone has said eveything so beautifully that I don't think I could add another word. We met one more time at Jack's for lunch on Sun.
and it took the power out of missing the two Big nights for me . All I can say is that I Love my Friend's . Each and everyone one of you !!!!!!
I want to add that I wish Beth could have join us for some of the festivities. Also after Yours Truly a few of us came back to my house and skyped . We really enjoyed "seeing "her . When she comes in we will have a Panini's Party for her . Her drink is an Armaretto Sour !!! That'll work !!

Let me add my congratulations and thank you to the committee for organizing a great event. Heck, my wife even had a great time. The Cruise Masters and Polster were great and it was wonderful to be dancing again with a lot of the same faces I danced with at height's events and elsewhere. Mark, your video was excellent and brought back many found (and not so found) memories. How do you spell Ghoulardi anyway? And to our classmates who were there it was great to hear your stories, share a laugh, a hug and party with you once again.

My time at heights shaped me in so many ways and positioned me to walk through doors that were begining to open for African Americans. Having an opportunity to reconnect some of those friendships has been very special for me. Although it was a "Lenny" weekend it was a weekend I will not soon forget. Thank you all!

I also want to thank everyone who planned our reunion and took their time to volunteer. It was truly an overwhelming experience. Like they say, "make new friends but keep the old...."

Jackie the centerpieces were incredible. Val, the website is what made the weekend so great, all the prior connecting with everyone before the reunion. All the new photos is what kept me coming back to the site again and again. You truly did an outstanding job.

Cleveland weather is warming up this week, wouldn't you know it!!

Monday morning - back at work - still smiling about the fabulous weekend and seeing everyone. Even though I worked on the committee and want to thank all committee members, my thank you's also go out to everyone in our class able to attend any part of the weekend, to everyone who added their information to the web site and to all unable to attend.

Jimmy, the music was the best. The added soloists (Irma, Shelly and Bill) were a wonderful surprise. Mark, the video was outstanding. Jackie, the centerpieces were perfect. Val, your expertise on the web site is unmatched. Jim, Norman and Sue, the organization of the entire event was greatly appreciated.

We all have so much to be proud of - our families, our careers, our friendships. The connections made over the last year through the web site and the reunion weekend will last forever. Even though we cannot always visit in person, we can still connect.

Francie, I want to add my condolences on the passing of your dad. My parents were able to stop by Friday night for a short visit, and I am so glad they were able to say hello to some friends.

My love to all,

Donna

I may not have graduated with the CHHS Class of '69, but my time with many of you on Friday night brought me back to many wonderful memories with my buddies from Coventry, Belvoir and Wiley.

The Friday event and this website have been a delight - many thanks to the tireless organizers.

Best,
MW

I think what made it so special was that we all put high school behind us, no real clicks just everyday people enjoying life and each other! 40 years later and finally I really liked hts. because of all the wonderful people who have touched our lives! as Johnny Lader said "we were one of the last great classes at CHHS" best of luck, happiness and good health to all. kenny

What a weekend!!! The committee did an unbelievable job and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. How wonderful it is to know that it doesn't matter how many years go by, or how long the time span since you last spoke, friends will always be friends. I feel very fortunate to be a member of the CHHS Class of '69.
See you all in 10.

Barbara Kurlander (Schneider)

I have to admit, I was apprehensive about attending Friday evening since I wasn't a graduate of CHHS. I am so glad I did. It was such a warm and friendly atmosphere, and I so enjoyed reconnecting with old friends from Taylor Rd., Belvoir, and even OSU. Thanks to the committee (I know how hard you worked)--it was a very special evening.

WOW!! I may not have been in Cleveland for the reunion over the weekend but the feelings coming through in everyone's post are amazingly strong. I am sincerely moved by the depth of expression about the reunion, the gathering, the coming home so many of you expressed.

There really is 'no place like home,' and our class clearly has the element of such that many others who have passed through the halls of CHHS simply may not understand.

Through the months there have been so many thoughts shared on this forum defining the time, the color, the chemistry of the class of '69 but there is nothing like looking into the eyes of each other that serves as the cement for all of it.

I thought of all of you at the reunion this past weekend and hoped somehow I would know what it was like to be there. I cannot help but say it is more than clear, it is awesome for me to feel the reunion through your words. THANKS TO ALL WHO POSTED!!

As for me, Sandy arranged a gathering of niners to go to her house and SKYPE me after breakfast on Friday. It was a mini-mini reunion for me but fun just the same. Thanks Sandy for thinking to do this for me.

I am still smiling having read the Forum today!!!!

I do not want to repeat what everyone has beautifully stated but throughout the weekend, I realized that life is too short, not to continue old relationships as well as new.

Seeing as I have been on the reunion committees before and did what I could from Florida.....this year was the best ever!!!

Even spouses that knew no one in our class had a wonderful time!!

Thank you again.
Dinner is being planned in Orlando for December....invitation is open

Hi everyone, we are still on the road visiting beautiful places and having new experiences, so I haven't had time to totally digest the whole experience of Cleveland. I don't even know how to express how I feel about being back there and seeing you all. My memories are from childhood. So much has changed so the memories are a blur. But seeing your faces...you all look like I remember from elementary and jr high, even though I saw your faces in all the pictures that I put on the site, but actually seeing you, I saw your faces exactly as I remembered you then. It was truly an awesome moment, time stopping. As much as I enjoyed working on the site and communicating with you all during the past year, Saturday night, you all made me feel like I was a part of you and I really appreciate that. I didn't feel like an outsider at all. My husband kept saying he didn't understand why I was going there, and I kept saying it was a connection from my past that I left behind me a long time ago and never looked back. But you all are a part of me, we all experienced the same things, and the connection I felt when I walked in the room was very empowering. It was wonderful seeing all of you, we had a great time, even my husband did. Keep sending me pics and we'll get em on. It'll be fun to look back on them years to come. Thanks for making me feel so welcome.

Glad to see that I am not the only one lost of words.....
We had a mini-reunion of the Berkshire area kids.... It was very nice.... It made me feel good the number of people who saw me at the reunion and remember me.... Sometimes I feel that I fell into the rabbit hole and came out in another reality....

Val, you said it right. (As well as everyone else!) I genuinely thought that my past was an "old life" I once had. I am someone who purposefuly "stays in the moment". So, going to reunion was just to see a glipse of my past. However, I realize like a family, everyone is still carried forward with you! Because those that I've known as children ARE my family!! I genuinely feel that. This weekend has made that very clear. There is so much love in my heart. I have gone to every reunion but THIS one was transformational!

Anyone know how to get the you tube video? I tried every combo I could think of to pull it up but ...nothing...I heard its up and running. Glad you made it back in one piece, Clare. We wanted to plan a Dec dinner and wanted to wait for Mr. Berman to get back from fla so how about Mon Dec 28th? Mark your calendars!!!!
