The dinner on Friday WAS the highlight of my week.  Within 6 days, both my husband and I lost our jobs and a brother/brother in law.

Anyone know someone hiring in Orlando?

Thanks,

Bonnie

It is 230 in the morning and I just got back from Metro.... My surgery was scheduled for 2 in the afternoon, but they did not start until 8 in the evening :(

I have a cup over my ear and I am going to try to sleep.... It was not painful.... and they released me the same day....

Bonnie, So sorry for the loss of your brother in law......jobs however can be replaced-crappy that you both had to lose your jobs in the same week....a big OY....Steven...congrats on your bravery to face this scary surgery! What a long wait.....that must have been torture.

which is better a cup over your ear or a lamp shade over your head

Steven I can't wait to hear the results. Please keep up informed. I've got my fingers crossed . A whole new world will open for you.

Anne Gutow (Chapman)

Steve,

I also can't wait for YOU to hear the results!!!!And I am glad you came home without pain. I hope that has continued. I agree with Louie: Better a cup than a lampshade (although lampshades aren't lopsided).

(Having had recent knee surgery) ... Be advised that as great and wonderful as our body's healing processes CAN be, healing is always slower than we WANT it to be!!!!

Bonnie,

What a horrible week.

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother/brother-in-law's passing. You are in our prayers.

Regarding jobs? I hate to say it, but everytime I've left a job under positive and enthusiastic circumstances, the subsequent job has not been as good for one reason or another. When I've left jobs under negative (or depressing) circumstances, the next job (or shortly thereafter) has paid better and been more positive because I've been forced to "look outside the box", look for the "silver lining", etc.

Wishing you both the best of luck with your job searches.

Anne

For those of you who remember David Goldstein, who passed away in April, his mother just passed away and the funeral was today.

Bonnie, I am soooooo sorry to hear about the loss of  your family member AND both of your jobs!! What a hell week for anyone to bear. It's crazy out there in the business world but hang in there and think positively. Always a challenge to do when things are low, but I'm sure you know that is the only way to survive......believe and it will be....eventually! How about looking for jobs in San Diego and moving back to paradise??

Steven, Congratulations! My fingers are crossed for your new and healthier you!!

I would like to thank everyone for their support..........when we have needed it the most.  We are taking one day at a time and believing that the glass is half full, not empty.  Joel, when we get together, we will see how full that glass can get........... with wine!!!

Just to let you all know I am feeling better except for my nose which I would cut off if it would help… I have terrible hay fever.  The one thing that helps is a walk on the beach by the pacific.  But I do not think that travel is in my future… (maybe November)

Have a nice weekend all… and Joel…. Remember  that outdated  Manischewitz  is the chief ingredient in Robitussin
