Well just so you know we were just as sick as you in Philadelphia! And Sandy don't you worry about anything coming before me and my shows!! And I think everyone is wonderful to look through all their stuff to find all this cool stuff to send to me to put on the site! I am glad to know that I am not the only one who has saved every piece of crap I have ever had in my life!!

"A gantze leben is a cholem." which translates to "All of life is a dream..." is the quote that my bubbe said....

Mitch remember that we are getting to the point where we are all dirty old men....:)

Hi Guys...

Your "life is but a dream" postings beg the question...Did anyone ever record "sh-boom" in Yiddish?

I'd buy it!

Wish I remembered this site more often to come and read about all this stuff. AND, I wish I could remember more of it. Those sure were wonderful, carefree times. I kind of wish we could know what we know now and then jump in the time machine and travel back.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing everybody this fall. If your travels bring you to Cincinnati be sure and let me know.

Allen

WOW - I just found the old class photos. Those are fantastic. I'm so glad that someone saved/collected them and that you guys went to so much work to get them on this site. What a hoot.

And after seeing all those Bar Mitzvah and Confirmation pictures - now I realize why there are Jewish stars next to so many people's names on the Classmate profile page. I think I was the only Jewish kid at Oxford and was really amazed when we merged in with the ghetto as I migrated up through the grades to CHHS.

Oh I just about laughed my guts out reading the latest "memory stuff". The program for the Roosevelt Music Concert got me really going. The 8th grade chorus sang "Always Missing the Boat" a Carribean folksong. Mr. Yanick got the bright idea that someone should be dressed up...looking for the boat...and he chose ME! Am I the only one who remembers me dressed in some kind of sarape, and a straw hat...standing ON a desk in front of the choir...looking around for the boat? Oh my goodness...it was the start of my fabulous "dancing" career. For those of you in the choir...Sally Braun always included me in the dances, but truthfully, I wasn't very good. In my "later years" I finally took seven years of tap dance lessons. I'm still an awful dancer but at least my feet move the right way!

Oh these memories.

OK...there are now four of the six sixth grade classes at Taylor. I confess...I have Mr. Grodin's class picture somewhere in this house, but I don't know where.

Allen look for your Oxford pictures and Shelley look for your Taylor pictures, they are waiting somewhere for you to find them. And don't forget when you email them to me to make sure you send me names! Thanks!

I definitely remember the "sin sex whiskey wine" slogan. People have looked at me funny when I mention it. I DEFINITELY never heard the x-rated one. I don't think I would have understood it back then. (I'm not sure if I understand it NOW - lol).

Don't worry, Louie will explain it to you...

I remember: We are great, We are fine,
We're the class of "69 and we don't mess around, HAY!

Anyone remember the GGC-MC Homecoming Float?
We borrowed the theme from Sherwin Williams Paint
(cover the earth). It's a Sure-Win, We'll Win, Pour It On Red-Man.....We had an all night party working on the float, but my Dad made me come home at 11PM :(

Shelley, I was in 8th & 9th grade Singers, but I don't remember you dressing up that way......I wish I did tho!

I too never heard the x-rated version but if I did I would've understood it. I probably would not have repeated it tho! Dirty old men were dirty young boys. Louie I'm shocked you were the one who made it up. How unlike you. You have always been outrageous. I was outrageous in the olden days, but I don't have the outrageous energy anymore plus I sell real estate and I have to pretend to be normal!

i think the x-rated had to do with lunch right sandy

Dennis Kucinich set that fire to stop the dumping into the river. Now it is prime real estate, but if you open your window, it still STINKS!

I must not be on your top ten list, because you are still ragging on me. What blue pills are you talking about?
