Being a snowbird is for the birds... Wendy folks did it for a few winters before flying the coup and moving to Mission Viejo... but of course that was 30 years ago and houses there were less than 200,000... Does anyone know of a good hotel on the ocean in orange county ca for less than 150 a day??? going to see the mother-in-law :)

Speaking of temperature...what kind of weather should we expect in Cleveland in October? Got to figure out what to wear....down here we wear jeans and t-shirts all year round...

Lake Effect... we are special because Cleveland is one of few places on earth where it happens....and to think your grandparents could have move south for almost nothing! happy Birkat Hachama ("Blessing of the Sun") which takes place every 28 years....

VAL,
YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT KIND OF WEATHER WE CAN HAVE. WE CAN HAVE INDIAN SUMMER OR WE CAN HAVE COLD WET WITH SNOW.
YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT TIL OCTOBER TO FIND OUT.
HAPPY PASSOVER TO ALL OF THE JEWISH CLASSMATES AND HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF THE NON-JEWISH ONES.

Sorry Louie, Albertsons is going out of business. Publix is way overpriced so they can pay for the Albertson's they bought. Winn Dixie is really bad!!

So sorry all of you are having that last blast of winter. It is old for sure. I still have relatives in Cleveland and they are tired of winter also.

SW Florida is nice, beautiful and very tropical. It does lack the culture of Cleveland and having grown up there, those things are a still a part of me.

Hope all of you can hunker down and wait it out..Spring HAS to be just around the corner!!

Beth

You can always go shopping at Sweet Bay...they are cheaper than Publix.

There is culture in Florida, you need to seek it out.

OK snowbirds. Post-reunion party in Fla at Bonnie's in December.
BYOB (Bring your own Berman)

We have an open house 24/7/365 here in Houston.

Mitch

Thank you for planning that party at my house! Anyone that wants to come to the party needs to RSVP. Louie will already be here in Dec, so we are stuck with him

When does the party start at your house? Are we staying at your house, or do we need to find our own lodging?

Mitchell Berg (Berg)

Come on. We may make the kids sleep on the floor, or set up tents. But no one is turned away.

04/08/09 06:35 PM #1020

Bonnie Hirsch (Lauer)

Your kids are little.....we can move them into one room and then we can take over the house!

Wouldn't you be shocked if I showed up on your door step with my pillow?

Hi Bonnie,

You have to rem, when I moved to Fort Myers in 1987, the big announcement was the building of a McDonalds in Labelle. Then, shuttle service to the airport via a small bus. It WAS a shock to me.

As far as culture, I think it is closer to you than for me. I did get to Orlando to see CIRQUE!! AWESOME!!!

We can meet in the Everglades someday!!

Charles, (Chuck) Balcher

Hi Sandy N. Nice to see you comment online. Actually some of us guys are online investing, selling, learning,...etc. But, nothing beats reconnecting with our childhood youth. Best to all. From, you know where, ( **** H A W A I I **** ), of course.

Beth

You have been on Fl a whole lot longer than I have, but for right now, I would not move back to Cleveland...culture or no culture.

We can meet anywhere that you would like to meet.

Mitchell Berg (Berg)

Come on Bonnie. We have guests all of the time and Texans are very hospitable. We have down and foam pillows so you don't need to bring yours unless you want to.

Joel Newman is coming for dinner on his next visit to town. Any CHHS friend that comes to Houston without contacting us will miss out on good company and a good time.

Now that Louie's behaving I'll have to say it.

Charles did you have to go all the way to Hawaii to get lei'd?

I read an article about the feral chickens (retired game cocks-fighting roosters)infestateion in Hawaii. They are beautiful to look at with brilliant red colors. But. the noise of these roosters is waking folks at 4-5 AM.

Mongeese (their natural enemy) don't exist much on Maui and Kaui, Any issue where you are?

04/08/09 07:55 PM #1025

Bonnie Hirsch (Lauer)

Mitch

Give me notice when Joel is coming to visit and we will show up that same weekend and you will have to show us your Texan hospitality

Clare Kelemen

Hi y'all,

Sandra I worked away from my computer today so I couldn't play until now (see, I work).

Bonnie....of course you can still be my friend...when your ready to be my facebook friend let me know.

Louie, you left me off of the humorous crowd...I'm wounded! I even said poopie and that didn't seem to work for me!

As far as the weather....the most south west you can get is San Diego and us coastal folk live in a constant 50-80 temperature winter and summers! I try not to flaunt it, but I am sure spoiled!! If you move here great if you don't great...there's too much traffic these days...when I moved here in 1980 I owned the roads!

04/08/09 08:08 PM #1027

Clare Kelemen

Oh yeah, Charles, Hawaii trumps San Diego!

04/08/09 08:08 PM #1028

Bonnie Hirsch (Lauer)

Clare

I am not computer savvy to do Facebook....but thanks for the offer to still be your friend

04/08/09 08:11 PM #1029

Clare Kelemen

Val, I just finished my taxes so I'll go through my antique steamer trunk to find my (vintage) photos to send you....bear with me as that will be a project for me.

Debbie Dorsky (Meitin)

Hi all,

Even though we live in Florida, WE ARE NOT "ALTE COCKERS." At least I'm not. My house in Orlando is also open to Hts. 69 grads whenever you want to escape snow and cold weather. Bonnie and I live about 5 miles away from each other.

We just might need to come to you when the hurricanes start next summer!!

Happy Passover and Easter to y'all (that's what we say in Florida)!

Debbie

Clare Kelemen

Bonnie, are you kidding? You're too crazy to walk away from!

04/08/09 08:26 PM #1032

Sandra Neufeld (Ostrach)

hi y'all-I get to say that because MD is below the Mason-Dixon line. Bonnie-you should be saying that too-aren't we supposed to stick together as southerners? Unfortunately it's pretty cold around here right now-you could freeze your beauty-tocks off! not to mention that all my new plantings may not make it.

Clare, do you have room for us to set up a tent and live? So CA sure does have a lot to offer!! Also, I'm glad you're working.

Mitch-wish you would have issued your invite earlier-or I would have seen it-my oldest was there for a conference 2 wks ago and could have seen that Louie B isn't the only crazy person I went to hs with...

CB-when do we get to come to HI?

Beth-we'll be down soon, just need to find out when we get some vacation time......

Debbie-just remember that repetition helps you remember things, so just repeat yourself in the emails

it's great to see the verbal ballgame going on, see y'all later. San-Dee
