Jon Franzolino Obituary

Jon Mario Franzolino, 71
DOVER, Del. - Jon Mario Franzolino died on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the Center of Eden Hill. Jon was born on January 30, 1951, in East Cleveland, Ohio. He was the son of the late John F. Franzolino and Ione E. (Hinsdale) Franzolino. Jon is survived by his sister, Ellen I. Franzolino of Calistoga, Calif.
Jon earned his college degree at Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. Jon started his career working at Goodyear in Akron, Ohio and then moved on to Playtex in Dover where he spent decades contributing to the success of the company.
Jon had a passion for professional sports especially the Cleveland Indians and the Green Bay Packers. He loved playing poker with his friends, and he was an avid fisherman. Jon looked forward to his annual fishing trips to Canada and upstate New York.
You always knew the party was about to get better when Jon Franzolino showed up. He was funny, loud and had an infectious laugh. He would always have a story to tell that left his friends crying with laughter and begging for more! Jon had a lifelong passion for Corvettes and loved the thrill of driving fast so he could be "one with the road".
Jon was a quietly generous man helping his friends and their children whenever he saw a need. "Uncle Jon" was a name so often called out by so many that loved him.
Jon loved animals, especially his cats, Rocco and Zoe. He would proudly and comically pull photos from his phone to show off his "kids".
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, DE 19901. Friends may call one hour prior.
