I recently heard about the passing of Katie. It was pretty shocking. I remember her being a very sweet person, always smiling and saying hello when ever she saw me or even passed me by in the hallways at school. She contacted me on the Heights website with the most upbeat message and was so happy to say hello to me. She made me feel good and brought back a lot of memories. She sounded so happy in her emails. She loved her 3 dogs. They were like her children. We will miss u Katie. Rest in peace and thank you for all of your good wishes and smiles. Nadine Meclovsky Lader

I was so shocked to read about Katie in the Cleveland Jewish News. I had been in touch with Katie over this past spring; we were both very excited about the reunion, and she was looking forward to coming in for it. I looked forward to seeing her, and was surprised when I did not see her there. I figured it might have been so crowded that we just missed each other. Then I saw the article in the paper: what a shocker. A great loss for her family and friends, I'm sure. She was a great girl. We were friends at Heights, and she was always sweet and upbeat. You will be missed, Katie.     Andy Bloch

I visited Katie twice in Arizona 3 and 4 years ago....for a vacation....she had emailed me after all those years ago and she was coming to Cleveland to pick out a headstone for her sister....so sad.....I did not remember her but was thrilled that she had contacted me....so invited her to stay with me....a friend said that I should be more careful, could be some kind of scam....so I looked up her picture, met her at the airport and, although I didn't really  remember her, I recognized her from the picture and knew it was, indeed, Katie.

We reminisced and remembered many of the same people.  She became a good friend in the short time (just a few years) that I knew her late in life, spent long intervals apart but one of those people you feel close to without constant contact.  She was sweet.  I'll miss her.  I am so glad I met her and her lovely husband, Rick, and had two subsequent holdiays at their home in Arizona....will miss her!
