I want to share some comments about Melodie. I didn't know her in high school, but met her and became friends when we both went to OU between 1970-1974. Melodie and I worked together at Hillel planning dinners and folk concerts for students. She was a warm and caring person. I will be forever grateful when she encouraged me to return to Cleveland in the middle of the quarter to see my doctor, rather than go to the Student Health Center. It turned out to be diabetes. I was lucky for her advise.

After we graduated we lost touch but I learned later of her passing. I was sad that she passed away at a very young age as I couldn't believe we were going through college just a few years earlier.

If anyone else knew her and have knowledge what happened, I would appreciate you contacting me on this forum. May Melodie rest in peace.

Mel and I became friends both through our biology class with Mr. Hoker (that old guy who always seemed drunk), and through the Uptown Trolley. We always had so much fun singing, laughing, and hanging out together in school and at Fairmount Temple. She came to my wedding in 1979, and we visited her in New York on our honeymoon. Her passing coincided with the birth of our daughter - a time of very mixed feelings. Her grave is right near my dad's, and I always leave a stone.

Melody, Sherri Katz, Janet Century and I were friends at Roxboro. I called her "Mel". She was funny and creative, a good artist, and a great sense of humor. We used to write notes to each other and she drew cartoons. We were a silly group.
