Lawrence A. Cooper

Larry Cooper, who worked for IBM, died April 13, 2012, at age 57. Early in his career Mr. Cooper worked as an industrial engineer and manufacturing plant manager, but he considered IBM his dream job. He regularly helped coworkers solve complex problems, volunteered his time and mentored others. Fond of music, stereo technology and bicycles, he resided in Birmingham, Mich. A graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, Mr. Cooper earned his bachelor's degree in industrial and operations engineering and his MBA from the University of Michigan. He followed his alma mater’s football team throughout his life. Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife Denise, daughter Jennifer (fiancé Jared Acker); sons Daniel Lohman and Robert; and parents Ilse and William.
