Naples, FL

Richard D. Palmer, 70, of Naples, Florida. Passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 21, 2017 after a long brave battle with ALS. Richard was new to Naples, but immersed himself in the community by volunteering with the Jewish Federation, Citizens Foster Care Review Board, and Immokalee Foundation Take Stock in Children. Richard was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1947. He graduated from Cleveland Heights High in 1965, attended Miami University of Ohio, earned his bachelors degree from the Ohio State University followed by a law degree from Capital University. Richard served as an assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio before entering private practice for nearly 40 years in Columbus. Richard is survived by his loving wife of almost 39 years, Becky, his children, Joe (Kelsey) and Melissa (Aaron), granddaughter Olivia, and brothers Allen (Diane) and Terry (Barbara). He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Minnie Palmer, and his sister Joyce Stark. In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to help find a cure for ALS.
