Kent A. Stevens, 67, of West Kingston, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014. He was the husband of Karen A. (Hathaway) Stevens. Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Wayne L. and Florence R. (Vermilye) Stevens. Mr. Stevens served as a United States Navy Seal during the Vietnam Era. He worked for Verizon for many years before retiring. He enjoyed reading and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan. Besides his wife he leaves his son, Thomas W. Stevens and his wife Karen of Mansfield, MA; his brother, Richard Stevens and his wife Arlene of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Samuel and Collin Stevens and seven nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation.
