George and I remainded friends after High School - my daughter became freinds with his son Patchen. So sad he is gone. We had some wild adventures at the end of high school and for a few years afterward. He went off to Kent, I went to Ohio State.. I later reconnected and became friends with his wife Ann when they moved back to Cleveland Hts when we were all grown up. May you rest in Peace, George.
I just wanted to personally share with you my thoughts about George Markell. I often think of him. We went to Wiley together, and struck up a friendship where we would play poker with Joe Davis. He was a really nice guy and I enjoyed hanging around him. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.
